Hi,everyone. My name is Hao Guo, and you guys can call me Alan. I come from China, and this is my second year at UTSC. I am very glad to meet you guys in this course. I had spent 3.5 years studying in Singapore, and 2.5 years in Canada until now. I think North America is a better place for studying, and I like the way of teaching here.
IDS is a course that unlike management. There are more in-class discussions and communications which really improve us in many different ways.
However, English is not my mother language, and I think this problem persecute most international students, especially Chinese. When I saw the course introduction that posted on the black board at the first time, I realized that this is the course I should choose. This course called " Knowledge and Communication for Development ", examines in-depth the roles of information and communication technology (ICT) in knowledge production and their impact on development. World is changing everyday, human's living standard is improving, we do not need to worry about the developed countries, and how about the developing countries? Such as Africa, most people living in Africa do not know what is today's new technology. It is too far away from their lives, so what should the riches do? Education is the foundation for develop, higher education produce higher efficiency. New technology is based on good education. Therefore, provide a good educational environment is the best way to connect our world. I hope i am able to learn lots of new stuffs and do well in this course.
